Just wanted to post this fun pic of some very creative customers at ScrapHappy’s in Tulsa today! Saw some very cool bracelets being made,  -in great combinations of ribbon/embellishments! Thanks to the brave group that allowed me to snap this photo!! Scrap-on!

Ahhhh! Living in bracelet heaven has been very theraputic! Above are a few of the results! I did nothing it seems but make bracelet samples sunrise to well, well  past sunset for several days. (Boy, did it take a long time just to clean up!) Now that my brain is back down to earth, I wanted to share the fun! In case you are wondering, my Bangle Bracelet Set is still in the packaging phase for release soon. These were made using the NAKED bracelets that come in the Set. All you have to do is narrow down the millions of ways to cover them! That’s the only hard part!

I amazed myself today by breaking my own record for an untidy work space! The first shipment of my Bangle Bracelets have arrived and spurred this gathering of ribbons, ornaments, beads, and all manner of tiny tid-bits previously stashed away awaiting usefulness. I am so excited to begin making bracelet samples for the product packing photo that will accompany them, hopefully in the near future, to a creative shop source near you! A few I have already covered in fabric- (always my first instinct!) and this weekend I will add more by painting, beading, ribboning, wrapping, wiring, decopaging, and all combinations of the later!

Not a great shot, but hopefully just good enough to get the word out…. my original edition artwork debuted at the Blue Dome Art Festival in Tulsa, last weekend! There are many more not shown…  Had a wonderful time meeting everyone, and sharing! They may be purchased online as well, throught my studio store as soon as we can get them ALL up there! A quick update on a new fabric line that was just released by Michael Miller Fabrics at Spring Market last week featuring Route 66… and my bag that celebrates it! A perfect opportunity to showcase off the new Preppy Mini-Tote Set with Black Handles as well!  The kicky fabric is featured in a quilt by Verlinda Magby of OK Quiltworks  (www. okquiltworks.com ) in Oklahoma City called ”Memories on Route 66″.  Both bag and quilt were displayed in the Michael Miller Fabrics Booth in Portland during Spring Quilt Market, and are now “home” at OK Quiltworks. Love those graphic icons!

Very happy to have the latest edition of my Preppy Mini-Tote ready to ship! The new version completes the group by offering BLACK WOOD handles. These handles were made specifically for me, so it has been a long process to put it all together. The Set is priced at $38. Created specifically to decorate my Market/Festival booth at the last minute, this piece now hangs against the lime green walls of my studio, and is one of my favorite projects! I started with a 24 x 24 gallery edge canvas from the craft store, and literally decorated it to the “N”th degree. Using a thin coat of tacky glue, I divided it into distinct visual quarters by adhering four coordinating graphic fabrics by Michael Miller Fabrics.  Layered over the fabric are embellishments of ribbon, rick rack, tiny treasures of all varieties, (even a photo album on one corner!) to complete the look. I filled the photo album with sample bag photo’s, and was able to lift it on & off the piece when needed for show. Eye bolts screw into the canvas’s wooden frame for easy hanging. This was a bit difficult to photograph, and I am hoping some of the details are not lost! Hope this sparks an idea or two for your own Scrappy Wall Hanging!

Wanted to share a bit of fun I’ve had recently experimenting with the creation of bangle bracelets sporting favorite fabrics! My image above shows a few of the results! These were fashioned from a bracelet form and some wonderful scraps of Michael Miller fabric. I have to say, they are addictingly simple.
